Please plan to attend the Foundation's first meeting of the 2010-2011 school year

September 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the Teachers' Lounge.

The Foundation is a registered 501(c)3, non-profit organization, created by B-W parents. The Foundation funds present and future programs and projects to benefit the children at Benchley-Weinberger.

The activities of the Foundation complement the BW PTA's work. The bylaws of the Foundation offer flexibility in the allocation of funds to programs, services and equipment that cannot be supported by the PTA fundraising activities. The PTA and the Foundation are vital partners in sustaining the high standards of our school.

Foundation Meetings Schedule

The Back to School Night
Friday September 17, 2010
at school, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

This year's theme is Beach at the Bench. Wear your best beach/surf/Hawaiian fashions.

Admission is free; there will be a DJ dancing and FUN!  Dinner, snacks and goodies will be available for purchase by the 5th grade promotions committee.  There will be glow sticks for sale, a raffle, and more fun to be announced.

Calling all BW-beach-bums:

We need parents to help set up, decorate, clean up, serve food, help with the hula hoop and limbo games, etc.  Anyone interested in helping can contact Kim Kirkpatrick.

The 2010 Halloween Happening Carnival is just around the cobweb! This spooktacular spirit building event will take place on Saturday, October 30.

Familiar favorites include the haunted house, bake/cake walk with a cake decorating contest, pumpkin carving contest, fire truck ride, lots of fun games, and the "Monster flush" -- where one of your favorite teachers, staff members or parents gets soaked with water.

Being a room parent is a great way to stay connected to your child's teacher, fellow students and the school.

We would like to encourage parents to be co-room parents with one other parent so that each class has at least 2 room parents. We have found that this combination is a great way for parents and teachers to divide tasks and collaborate on ideas.
